Vinyl/Velour seat reupholstery kits

Has anyone used the seat reupholstery kits with velour inserts that MSA and Z-Specialties sell? I was told by Z-Specialties that the velour makes the seat cooler in the summer and warmer in winter, but that might have been salesman-talk. Anyone know if it was offered as an option in new S30's?

I dont know if it was offered as an option, but I do know that the velour in the middle is a lot better than stright up leather because leather gets hot in the summer(burns) and cold in the winter. The only thing leather has compared to the combo is looks and the joy of saying I leather seats in my car's feature list. My 260 has been reupholsterized with the velour and feels nice right now I just dont like the color scheme.

I think the velour might be a bit easier to live with as long as you take proper care of it, since it can stain and fade.

From what I understand, there was no option to the seats, they were always vinyl. Ken, unless you bought leather covers or the PO did, your car also had vinyl seats.

Personally, I love the vinyl...even with the heat. I think I prefer them over the leather seats in my I30...but I'm a pretty strange guy.
