Posted August 13, 200618 yr comment_178356 Good afternoon to all. In case you do not know I have been busy with my 83 280ZX. All little things but still need addressing. My talking lady is not working and I have narrowed it down to the speakers in the car. From what I have read the sounds are transmitted to the left front speaker. At the moment this speaker is not working. Not sure why. So I have two questions.1. How do you remove the dash speakers ?2. What replacement speakers can be used and still be able to use the talking lady?Thank you again :stupid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21178-talking-lady/ Share on other sites
August 13, 200618 yr comment_178361 I don't know if youv'e got your own FSM, but here are some shots from mine. Of course, I've got a 79, therefore no talking lady, but here are the basics of pulling the dash, which is what you will have to do to get to those speakers, I think. Just a thought-perhaps you can splice the lady's wire into the left front speaker wire at the stereo. Do you have factory stereo or aftermarket? As to the second part of your question, I would think that any speaker would do, so long as it fits the port. August 13, 200618 yr Author comment_178371 Hey Zbane,I do have a FSM but was not stated how to remove the speakers. As for the radio system I have it is still the original system in the car at this point Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21178-talking-lady/#findComment-178371 Share on other sites
August 13, 200618 yr comment_178378 Obviously, my FSM doesn't show that bit either, but I can only assume that the dash comes off first, the rest becomes apparent. Since you have the factory stereo, any modifications by the PO should be easy to spot, regarding the talking lady, anyway. Maybe the PO got tired of listening to her and snipped a wire. But, just in case her silence is naturally induced, do you have sound in all of your speakers, including the afformentioned front left?If so, it would stand to reason that the connection between the lady and the speaker is broken somewhere.I would start at the lady's voice box and move towards the speaker, looking for any breaks or problems in the line.Sounds like a simple process, therefore I doubt it will be.Good luckdavid Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21178-talking-lady/#findComment-178378 Share on other sites

April 9, 200717 yr comment_205360 just found my modul at the yard, and looking at the diagrams, the trigger input is ground i assume,I will have to build a subharness in my old accord but it's wired almost the same as the z,don't you just love the Japanese? I assume the ignition relay is not needed, just a switched ignition source. i already have all the diodes installed factory for my warning center in the dash. what is the reason behind the speed sensor anyway? I have a speed sensor since i installed factory cruise in my dx,but i was wondering what it did with the voice. does it maby change the volume or something? I also see the radio has a seperate input, and output. does this module supply it's own amplification? I was thinking of using a voice activated module since i already have a relay setup that changes the front speakers from left and right stereo,to a mono amplified input that goes to both speakers, with only 12 volts in . in other words supply 12 volts and the front speakers disconnect from the stereo and you supply any kind of amplified input into a single input.
