Anyone want a $500 parts car?

Unfortunatly, this one is apparently not for sale:finger: . I spoke with the owners nephew, and he swore his aunt was going to fix it up. This one was last registered in 1997, according to the window sticker. The pictures are blurry (camera phone), and therefore do not do this one justice.

There is some bubbling between the front wheelwell and door (common area, I think), and the underside looks fairly good. I couldn't really gut under though, nor could I pop the hood, so I may be VERY mistaken. The interior, however is another story. She's missing one seat and some panels are missing.

The one true gem, though, is the dash.

 Absolutely PERFECT!

Why is it that so many people have nice examples of these cars rotting in their backyards?

It's a crying shame.

The production plate is blurry, but the date is 11/76

The last shot is of her immediate neighbor. I fear she will end up in similar shape.

Will, there's an original Z (don't know the year/model) in Maggie Valley-minus engine. Has some rust issues bubbling through the paint, who knows where else. I'll try to get over there within the next week or so, it's about 1 1/2 hrs. away, but I have reason to go there occasionally. I'll get some more shots of the ZX (VIN/jamb/firewall and interior- ) in the next couple days.

When I get over to MV, I'll do the same.

David, let us know about that Maggie Valley car? I have a friend who really wants to get into Z cars (he's a 510 guy) and might be interested in a low-buck S30 project car.

If it's silver and surrounded by old Jags and Diamlers, then yes. The same guy has a couple roadster shells further in his lot. I'll drop by his shop in a few days, I've got a couple questions for him (and his collection).

ZBane and I tore the red one at the start of this thread up last Thursday afternoon/evening. The BAE kit was complete and other than a coked turbo(I'll soak it to free the bearings to see how bad they really are) and a dirty oil film, in excellent shape! I'll be posting pictures of a (expletive deleted) turbo setup and this one from BAE side by side part for part soemtime next week...

Will

I forgot to mention this kit had some additional parts, a Webber Big Throat Throttle body, and a couple of gages-we pulled everything except the gages...

And this kit is a little different from the BAE Installation instructions I have-this one came with a cast BAE exhaust manifold, and not an adaptor plate as presented in my instructions, and the fuel inrichment was handled differently as well. The engine was painted red and had dished pistons as well.

On top of all that, the car was a big pile of rust, however we were able to remove most of the valuable pieces, though the transmission, block and diffy are still there (not to mention the doors and hatch which I couldn't get into my car...)

I'll post some photos of the fun within the next couple days, when I have a solid internet connection.

seeing as this connection is holding, here are a few photos.

The guy wearing shorts is the car dealer-he ended up hanging out with us until around 1230 am, though we were done stripping the car around 1030.

the interior shots of my car show just the first load of stuff...

Ahh... I'm fascinated by those old turbo kits. Even though they're not that great compared to the Turbo setup Nissan designed, I'd still like one, just so I can point and say "this is period correct," and get lots of oohs and ahhs from people who don't know a lot about turbos.

I'm curious, for the BAE supplied header/manifold (??) that you pulled off of this car, were the exhaust ports square or round/diamond?

David,

When are the gold mesh wheels going on your S130?
