Posted August 16, 200618 yr comment_178712 I noticed that i'm getting a significant amount of vacuum from the hose connected to the rocker cover. Is that correct?thx. August 16, 200618 yr comment_178714 Yeah since the other end of that hose ultimately connects to the throttle body. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21214-vacuum-from-rocker-cover-vent/#findComment-178714 Share on other sites
August 16, 200618 yr Author comment_178715 You're thinking of the wrong end of that hose. The vacuum is coming from inside the rocker cover. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21214-vacuum-from-rocker-cover-vent/#findComment-178715 Share on other sites
August 16, 200618 yr comment_178719 Still, it's normal. You should also notice vaccum when you remove the oil cap from the valve cover. All ties of the PCV/EGR system. Look at both attachments depending upon which one applies to your car. August 16, 200618 yr Author comment_178725 Mine is the second one,nd a I already have that diagram someplace. I'm still trying to find out where the P.C.V. thing is, or is that the hose under the intake? No dashpot either.thx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21214-vacuum-from-rocker-cover-vent/#findComment-178725 Share on other sites
August 16, 200618 yr comment_178727 Should be located on the bottom of the intake and in the center. Should have a fairly good size rubber hose going from the PCV valve over to the pipe sticking out on the left front side of the engine just behind the front timing cover. PCV hoses are still available from the dealer as well. About $16.00 if I remember correctly.webdawg1 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21214-vacuum-from-rocker-cover-vent/#findComment-178727 Share on other sites
August 16, 200618 yr Author comment_178731 Surprisingly, my hose is still supple, especially since it's so near the exhaust manifold. I'm going to have to get that hose off, and check & replace it and the p.c.v. valve.thx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21214-vacuum-from-rocker-cover-vent/#findComment-178731 Share on other sites
August 17, 200618 yr comment_178841 what effect does it actually have on driveability to block off the hole at the throttle body boot and put a breather at the valve cover? I see them on a lot of engines. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21214-vacuum-from-rocker-cover-vent/#findComment-178841 Share on other sites
