August 22, 200618 yr comment_179584 .... Randy put flames on his car after it caught on fire Thanks Mark ! Greg's EP 240Z is limited to 15 x 7's, and runs the 23 x 9.5 x 15 cantilever slicks. You can get the cantilevers to fit under stock fenders with some spacing and rolled lips, but rules allow glass fenders, and there is a specific max track width allowed. Most racers try to get their car to the Maximum of any rule Greg's car use to use the Reaction Research glass fenders. A bit of information here. The Volks in the picture weigh in the 10 pound range. I know the ones that I have on my Miata are around 8 plus pounds. Mark, you have been taking some awesome shots from the track !! September 4, 200618 yr Author comment_181063 FWIW Greg ran the last national at Topeka this weekend. First time at the track. He DNF'ed but set a new lap record. Car should be strong at the Runoffs! Not sure what the issue was. I know he had gearbox problems on Friday. Now if he can get the car reliable...EP Chuck Clark Mazda RX-7 1:56.053 Brian Haupt Mazda RX-7 1:56.002 David Long Mazda RX-7 1:56.197 Michael Sturm Honda Prelude Si 1:55.766 Meredith Haupt Mazda RX-7 1:57.121 Ken Patterson Honda Prelude 1:56.316 Rob Winter BMW 318is 2:03.528 (17 laps) Greg Ira Datsun 240Z 1:53.331 (9 laps)--New Lap Record Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21228-greg-iras-sweet-sounding-240z-at-vir/?&page=2#findComment-181063 Share on other sites
