Restoration is back on track (with a lot of help)

Here are some more picts for your viewing pleasure. :)

240znz, Most of the NLA parts I am re-using if it can be cleaned up. The external door piece is one of them. If I can't clean up a part, I'll see if we can find it on a parts car somewhere.

Enrique, I think I have some kind of special smudge remover tool around here. If I can't find it, I might take you up on the offer. :P

Firewall material showed up, installed the heater, re-created the spare tire cover, test-fitted the new fuse panel, and the door sills are done.

Looking nice Mike.

Don't forget to get a small tub of Plumber's Putty to use to make the "gasket" for the Fresh Air Vent and Blower Housing where it mounts and "connects" to the Cowl Bucket Vent Opening. It will seal, stay pliant, and not get affected by heat or moisture and best of all... doesn't smell.

One other suggestion, take off the aluminum sills until you are DONE with the interior. You still have the seats, dash and a few other items that can ding that soft aluminum very easily...not what you want, as they'll get scuffed up soon enough anyhow.

Same thing goes for the fuse box, mount it AFTER the dash is in place, otherwise as you put it in position it's likely to take a hit from the support legs.

I am happy to report even more progress today. New (yes it's a '72) dashboard is in, interior wiring is nearly complete, hood latch / release is done, heater assembly is all there, and hoses are peeking out of the firewall.

Carpets are there and looking good. We are still waiting on the vinyl pieces and I believe our next step is to find door panels. And, oh yes, the windshield will be installed.

Thanks for sharing your project Mike, it sure looks nice! The pics have been very enjoyable. Next time up in the northern end of the state, I'll stop in to see the guys at Ztherapy some time as well. Sounds like a great group of people. Stop in and say hi if you find yourself going through Medford!

Tom.
