Well, pretty much as expected, the 1970 Yellow Z on ebay didn't meet the reserve. Did anybody physically take a look at it? It may have been worth the $8,000 the owner was looking for, but I sure wouldn't have paid that from his description and the pictures he posted. :finger:

Oh well, maybe he'll wise up :stupid: or sell it for less money to someone who was bidding during the auction.

The silver one looks pretty nice. Wonder if it will sell? Owner says he has $25K in it.

Bob,

I was watching that car as well. If only there were more complete pictures such as the undercarriage and in the wheelwells etc... Ebay is a great way to advertise in terms of generating interest but the insertion fees are becoming a bit too steep. The silver one is pretty nice and it doesn't surprise me that the 25k threshold has been exceeded. For example the '81 280ZX in my signature line had $17k spent on it over the course of four years!

A good resource for those looking to find clean West coast Datsuns is via craigslist.org. Considering how expensive it can be to restore a rusty old Datsun the plane ticket or car transporter can minimize the financial burden.

I had planned on going to see it but had other commitments I had to take care of.

I told the guy he wouldnt sell it for his reserve based on his pictures and description. But because Burt told him what it was worth, he didn't really care about the content in the auction. He said a true Z person would appreciate it. Guess I'm not a true Z person. LOL

FWIW,

Chris A.

Well, surprise surprise. The owner (Mike) just called and offered to sell me the car for $6000. Claims that was his reserve. Said he had a two phone calls yesterday. One said he'd pay $5000 and the other said he'd pay $6000.

Said he wanted me to have first shot at it. I declined as I have enough irons in the fire as it is. So maybe whoever offered him the $6000 will get the car.

Lets hope so and maybe its a member here.

FWIW,

Chris A.
