Pir0San Posted August 24, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2006 Hey, I know there was a post around here about how to restore and refinish a 240Z steering wheel, but for the life of me I cannot find it. I was able to find this link but I could have swore that there was another thread with pics. I just bought another steering wheel from ebay, and wanted to refinish it. Pir0San Posted August 24, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted August 24, 2006 Yeah, I tried "steering wheel restoration", but didn't see any of those. I guess I'm search handicapped. Thanks Arne!
Zak's Z Posted August 24, 2006 Share #4 Posted August 24, 2006 I posted this one a while back, and theres some pics in my gallery. I think ARNE got it in his list there. Zak
Pir0San Posted August 24, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted August 24, 2006 yep, Arne did. Thanks guys, I feel dumb now. It's strange that a string such as "steering wheel restoring" yields different results than "steering wheel restoration".Now I just can't wait for my wheel to get here! LBO730 Posted August 24, 2006 Share #6 Posted August 24, 2006 You guys think there would be any interest in leather wrapped steering wheels? (240's, 260's & 280's if the price was reasonable and excellent quality)
hls30.com Posted August 25, 2006 Share #7 Posted August 25, 2006 as loong as it didn't look more like a laced wheelskin cover than a factory leather covered steering wheel(the leather on the factory steering wheel in my Dodge 1500 Quadcab is beautifully done).WIll
Zak's Z Posted August 25, 2006 Share #8 Posted August 25, 2006 Post a pic of one if you have it. I think the wheel looks good because of the 'wood', so I wonder what a leather wrapped one will look like.Zak
MarkDixon Posted August 25, 2006 Share #9 Posted August 25, 2006 I've restored two steering wheels. I found it easier to use a Dremel tool to sand down most of the spokes. I have one of them for sale in the classified section. Here are some pictures of it.
