What is the length of the 69-early 71 Driveshaft and the length of the late 71 up driveshaft? Is the automatic different? The measurement I need is center to center of the U-joints.

On my early driveshaft I got 21 1/8" from the centers of the two u-joints. I now have the later shaft in there and think it was about an inch longer.?.? I have to get up under there a little today and will see if I can get you that measurement.

In the early cars, I don't believe there is any difference between auto and manual driveshafts. I used the auto driveshaft with my Type A four speed when I converted.

Do you think you need an early (short) driveshaft, Dave? I should have a spare one soon. Can't vouch for the condition of the u-joints, you'd probably want to replace them.

I used a 72 auto drive shaft with a 77 4-speed
