Hello, fellow Z lovers

My 1st car was a 1981 280zx and I feel in love. My next car was a real find; i a 1976 280z with 60k original miles and a one owner. BtW: that was in 1991 and I paid $600.00.

Since then I have owned a 1984 a 1990 TT and most recently a picked up a one Owner 1981 with 128K for $750.00. No rust or accidents and it had always well maintained. I was planning on restoring it back to new however; I prefer the early 240's and the early 280 body style so I just sold it in hopes of finding a 71.

Here is my question. I live in Sacramento and buy and sell later model imports for a living. I am constantly finding clean rust free Z's dirt cheap. Are Z's readily available else where in the country and is there a demand that I can fill on the east coast.

I'm looking forward to discussing this topic and meeting fellow enthusiasts.

Cheers

Aurelius

Your question! Most of the Zs here in Georgia are rusty, or put up!

Will

Okay, that's what I am getting at. Literally I could find hundreds of rust free Z's from the 70's.

Just the other day I found a 1986 Turbo with 80K in EXCELLENT condition for $3500.00

You have not idea how cheap and nice the Z's are here in Northern California!

1.Thats nothern california

2. All in which you describe are ZXs which are easy to find basically.

3. Try looking for rust free 240 260 and 280"Z" s on the east coast for those prices.

4. Are you spamming in some sort of where way.

5. If you find "hundreds" of Zs why are you asking us why dont you just take those Z and sell them.

1. Look at the big brain on Kenshin!:stupid: Correct, this is Northern California.

2. YES, I am talking about 240's, 260's and 280's!

3. I'm from the east coast and I know they rust out there and that's why I came to this site to discuss the possibilities!

4. Your accusation of spamming is an insult!

5. That's the idea and I was simply asking what member opinions are on the subject.

6. I can only hope your attitude is not representive of the demeanor on this site.

My comment on nother california was because the prices in california differ greatly compared to that of here in the east coast where Z's are prone to rust. Also the ZX you mention preferbly 80-89, they are not worth nearly as much as the early onea are so your theory could very much fall short if you decide to invest in selling that era of Z's.

BTW-And my attitude towards your original post was only because of the vibe i got from it, it felt like spam. That is my opinion as for other members up here they may feel differently. If I offened you in any way im sorry and I dont want the reputatiion you got from this forum to be bad because of my posts.

I don't understand the hostility. Aurelius was simply making an inquiry at an enthusiast web board to see if there might be interest in the market. To me it is obvious that he is gauging the interest of East Coast people in buying West Coast cars.

I will concede that his post would have been better if

1. He was more specific about the years of cars he was thinking about.

2. He had searched on this website or places like http:www.traderonline.com to do some research.

3. He had some actual pictures of cars he was willing to sell

4. He provided some evidence that he had transportation services arranged

5. He had refrained from cross-posting his inquiry in two forums

Other people, granted with reputations in the community, have posted on this board and others to gauge interest in various Z related products. I recall that was done for European style tail lights.

I responded to his other post where he mentioned experience in the car market.

Is it truly SPAM to do market research here on a topic relevent to the board, or is it an opportunity to unite potential buyers and sellers?

I hope that if he is genuine, he will advertise in the community to support the web boards that support his market.

Hey Caleb, I thought it was spam at first also. But based on both his threads so far, it might be a legitimate question.

I'm in the "Rust Belt" so I won't offer any opinions about the cars or their availability in my area.
