I could provide links to actual pictures of cars that are available however, I wanted to meet a few members and get a feel for the idea and the potential interest.

I do have connections in the transportation industry. I would be willing to assist but would NOT take full responsibility for arranging the shipping as that industry is difficult at best.

I might be interested in trading up if the price was right. My only confusion on the post was that Aurelius was looking for a 71, but at the same time had access to 100's. So it appeared to be a bit odd to me.

What I was pointing out was that I had purchased a 1981 Z with 128K original miles for $750 with the intentions to restore it BUT I would prefer to spend my time, money and effort on a early 70's or a 76 280. I sold that 81 to a guy for $1350 who said he was buying it for his wifes birthday. Two days later I found it on craigslist for $1950. I had a friend call him and he lied threw his teeth.

Frequently find more decent Z's than you can possibly imagine.

I do not sell cars for a living either, more evidence of me not having access to cars. I also live up north where they rot out, so myself and 2 of my friends are interested in buying rust free cars.

I just re-read my post and I dont detect one note of 'hostility'. I think it was pretty to the point. You have 100's of Z's or you don't. If you do, pretty please with sugar on top, put up some pics/descriptions/prices.

That comment pegged my BS meter. I suspect the hostility you received was a reflection that others feel the same way.

If you were using the term "literally" as a figure of speach, then now would be a good time to eat a little crow and clarify it. You'll find the people on this site respect those who speak from fact, or acknowledge when it's only opinon, and have little tolerance for exageration.

The only reason I didn't welcome you is you presented like a business, not like a member. While I have never driven down the street to welcome a new business to the area, I have run down the street to welcome a new neighbor.

Members contibute to be helpful, businesses generally contribute to be compensated-even if indirectly. I do appologize if anything I have posted as come across as hostile, it was absolutely not my intention.

Maybe because I have been on this board and others for a few years, I have a different idea of what would constitute relevence in a search. The topic of Z car value has come up numerous times. I've also seen a lot of threads of people travelling to the West Coast to buy Z cars. I posit that the consensus is that California and Southwest US are the places to look for a high quality body 240Z, especially since the price of the car, plane ticket, and gas to drive back could be significantly less than the cost of obtaining a similar or lesser car from the East Coast.

I only mention "if" with respect that you are new to the community and hence an unknown. You might consider joining a local Z club, such as Z Owners of Northern California (ZONC). You can type whatever you want on here, but you still have to expect to overcome some skepticism.

If you are successful in starting up something and build a reputation, I could be considered a potential buyer for a #1 or #2 car in the future. I'm just not sure of when "the future" might be.

Ooooo.....K lets break this down;

To the Members - Please notice that he said he could FIND not HAD hundreds of rust free Z's from the 70's. Big difference.

To Vintagecarman - You claim to be able to find hundreds of 70's rust free Z's and then point out an 86 300ZX to back your claim. Big difference.

I'll say this: There is a market for the 70's Z cars and that market will most likely remain and just grow stronger as good example become increasingly difficult to find. Especially in areas like the east coast and up north. A Z wont last too many winters or rainy seasons in those areas. Whereas a Z can sit in a junkyard exposed to the elements in AZ for a decade and come out with nothing more then some spiderwebs and faded paint.

If a network were setup to bring quality examples of these cars to areas where they're becoming extinct I think it would do well if set up properly. Fair pricing, true to their description Z's being made available, and a means of getting the cars from the west/south-west to these other areas and doing it cost effectively.

You gotta take risks in business. If you want to supply Z cars to the rest of the country then whats it going to hurt to purchase a few good examples and test the waters. You'll get a lot further if you can give people an EXACT idea of what their options are.

This car needs a couple things to be in tip top condition. Needs new brakes (grinds a lil bit but still stops fine), Blinkers (needs a new flasher unit), Driver side door sticks a lil bit (latch needs to be re-adjusted).

Other than that, the car runs realy smooth and is very reliable. Decent on the gas too.

Datsun "73" excellent condition - $1500

Datsun Z 240, 1973. Runs well needs minimal maitenence. Must see to appreciate.
