So basically your just out to make money plain and simple.

Fortunately I make an excellent living so to answer your accusation

NO! I’m not in it for the money plain and simply.

Let me be as clear as possible.

The Z's have always been one of my favorite cars and would love to get involved with them. I thought it would be fun and that Z's buyer who live in rusty area's could benefit from what I could offer. You know a two way street.

I buy and seller later model imports and shop all day long. I am constantly finding rust free clean Z's cheap and I wondered if they were as readily available in other states and if Not, is there a demand to be filled.

I came to this site thinking that I could ponder the question and if there was a demand I could start buying a couple a months and posting them. I checked out the classified section and the inventory seemed thin. If I can create a supply of decent Z's and find happy buyers while making a couple hundred bucks, where is the problem?

I guess with all the internet trolls, scam artist and not properly stating what my thoughts and intentions are I set myself up for doubters and flamer’s.

Sorry if I came across combative however, I tend to take people at face value and had mistakenly expected to be treated in the same fashion.

PASS! This truly is not worth the hassle.

I came to this site thinking that I had a good idea and that it might work out for all involved, I do not need to prove myself or my abilities to any one.

Sorry if my approach was bad or had a defensive attitude, I will now move on my way.

Move along, then. I had serious hopes of getting a Z from you, but if that's your attitude, I don't need to deal with it. Sayonara. And quit posting, since you've just about alienated yourself from almost everyone here.

I typed in vintagecarman and google and it looks like he frequents several forums and discusses his buys and sells many of them off craigslist. an example would be an acura legend he purchased for $900 and is selling for $2000. Looks like he was legit, legit at making money.

If the costs he quoted included transporting the cars across country, he would not be making that much money.

Anyway, capitalism is good. If he's matching up cars to the people who want them, he should be making money.

First off, I'd like to thank KenshinX for posting the links to Vintagecarman's other forum participation.

I'll start off with some quotes of his on this forum:

OPB: Vintagecarman

1. I live in Sacramento and buy and sell later model imports for a living.

2. I have credentials a mile long in the car industry and know cars like the back of my hand. I know the difference between garbage and a diamond.

I personally like #2

Now let's look at some quotes of his on the Acura and NSX forum concerning a vehicle he purshased for himself.

OPB: Vintagecarman -Acura & NSX forums

1. Motegi,

You were right on and after looking a bit closer, this legend appeared in better condition then before I posted the thread. Although it fit my budget I’m looking for a cleaner ride

ChrisK, I appreciate your input as well.

Gheba_NSX, I found that same accord however, it’s a LX and I would prefer a car with a few more options.

If at all possible, would you check this Legend out?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r=&cardist=212

He’s agreed to $5000. All books, records, no accident and super clean. I told him I would buy it however, he refused to sell it until he found a replacement. I don’t get it? I asked him, if he wasn’t willing to sell it immediately, why did he have it advertised?

Either way, he said I could have it early next week and I feel it’s worth the wait.

Thanks.

2. Looking for advice on pricing

I recently purchased a 93 Legend L 4 door auto with 118k for $5k. There is slight hail damage the amp in the stereo is blown along with the rear speakers. No accidents, original paint with near perfect interior and factory up-graded rims.

The water pump and timing belt where replaced at 90k however, it needs a tune up. I have not registered it as of yet so here is the break down

$5000 purchase price

$300 plane ticket cost

Estimates

$300 to repair hail damage

$300 to repair amps and rear speakers

$300 for tune up.

$100 for professional detail

Would this Legend be worth $6500 after all I have completed all repairs? I would be able to advertise as near perfect condition needing nothing.

3. Ever been lied to by a Priest?

I have for sure!

I am so pissed off right now I’m ready to blow a head gasket!

I basically purchased my Legend sight UN-seen by the sellers description. I was told it had a few rock dents, not hail damage $350. The speakers were blown, how about speakers and amp$300.

I decided to have a tune up done over $400 and now it needs both rear motor mounts and transmission mount another $400

I thought I could trust a priest NOT! I thought a 93L with 118K was worth $5k now I’ll be into it for $6500.

Some times I really really hate people!

Now I ask you, does this sound like a man that "know cars like the back of my hand" or for that matter knows "the difference between garbage and a diamond"?

I'm pretty sure I won't need him to match me up with a car. Seems he can't even match himself up!

I personaly do not know who vintagecarguy is. But this is getting a bit Ridiculous. So what if the guy is out to make a few bucks. So what if he made a poor choice on an Acura purchase. There is a lot of gray area between garbage and diamonds. We have all made regretable purchases in the past.

He is not going to make a killing at selling Z's. That is a proven fact we all should know. The guys at MSA love the Z cars but they also have to eat. If it turns into a profitable business then of course he should become a vendor like they are.

Even the most run down Z's body in this area are better than what I've seen for sale in the mid West and East coast. Now I am talking about the Sacramento Valley, not California in general. Eventually the Well will run dry around here. But why not save a few of them from the crushers? Even if someone makes a few dollars at it.
