August 31, 200618 yr comment_180566 What about the vents under the rear window? I guess he could of had a 240 deck lid put on.But the vin is definatly a 260z Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21393-they-made-a-74-240z/#findComment-180566 Share on other sites
August 31, 200618 yr comment_180570 And it's not even a typo. He really thinks it's a 240. Look at the rear plate. On another note, 260Z's were made through 11/74, so technically there is a such thing as a 1975 260Z. August 31, 200618 yr comment_180574 As he is not the first owner, maybe there is a booboo on the title! No emblems on the car to give it away!WIll Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21393-they-made-a-74-240z/#findComment-180574 Share on other sites
August 31, 200618 yr comment_180580 No emblems on the car to give it away! The car does have 240Z taillights which would be harder to change out than emblems. Clearly the RLS VIN makes it an early 260Z, but apparently someone in the past really wanted it to be a 240Z.I question having a starting bid equal to the buy it now price. August 31, 200618 yr comment_180600 I think the guy is hoping he gets lucky!!! From the general look and condition of the Z, I would bet this Z has many of the usual issues we have all encountered! Just because it has an RB engine and paint that looks pretty good in a photo plus the incompleteness of it all doesn't in my book qualify as a $15K car. At $15K the car should be complete and looking percfect.....so basically, I think this guy is a dreamer! Tom P.S. Anyone want to buy my 1970 240Z for $25,000.00???? I agree with you Mike, but if he couldn't tell by the vin that it was a 260, he probably can't read tail lights either-or he his hoping noone else can-the emblems would have told everyone-unless he changed them too.. IN making the starting bid and the BIN price the same he either priced it to sell fast(NOT!), or his parents (or wife) made him list the car...:stupid: I bet he doesn't call her a dog to her face...
