Carl, thanks for posting the link, that is truly a beautiful Z, I even like the yellow. Unfortunatly, I've not got 12K to drop on a car in one swoop.

Jim, I, too, saw the rust on the rear deck, I couldn't really tell if it was surface rust or just dirt, as the car isn't the cleanest.

One thing I like about this car is that the proceeds will go to a nonprofit org that deals with automotive education.

I got some responses from my queries regarding shipping, $875 was the cheapest, so I think I will avoid bidding-and look for something closer.

Look up McNutt Auto Transport - I used them to get my Z from Virginia to NJ. It was less than $500.00 IIRC. They use open trailers unless you specifiy otherwise, but shouldn't be an issue this time of year.

I know an Auto guy - swears by them. They did right by me, give them a look.

That 240Z is gorgeous! I love that yellow as well. Our old ZCCNV president bruce Troxell used to won a '72 240Z that he restored in that same color and it was always a joy to see that 240Z out and about. He ended up selling that 240Z after moving into the Corvette scene and the selling price was under $5,000! In that condition I really could love any color? The yellow is very nice though. Makes a strong argument for me to thin the herd even more.

I couldn't help but notice a yellow 280Z in the background photo as well. What is the story with that car? It doesn't look like a Zap car but the yellow 280Z's are getting tough to find as well.

The Yellow 77 in the background is all original and as I recall it has something like 15K or 21K miles on it. He also has another 77 - Yellow with the G-Nose also with super low mileage and in "as new" condition.

I personally love that Yellow as well - but it is one of the few colors that either you love - or hate! It just screams "70's Z Car"... We had one on the show room floor when they first starting arriving in late 71 and it was very interesting to watch the Customers reaction to that color...

All I can say is WOW. Too bad there aren't some photos of that yellow '77

280Z as well. Seeing that one makes me wish I still had my yellow '78 280Z. I missed a chance to buy one that used to be parked at the George Mason University campus in Fairfax, Va. about 8 years ago. The yellow Z's are becoming fairly scarce in original unmodified condition--even mine had the dreaded sunroof cut into the roof.

There is a really nice early series one on ebay right at the moment in Winton, Ca. that is the pale yellow color. Someone will end up with a nice series one with a '70 production date and it even still has the old California blue plates registered currently.

I spoke too soon..... While the previous discussion was right on track by everyone - my "example" turned out to be a mistake... upon closer and more careful inspection - what we have here is really a high #4 Condition Car... NOT a #3.

#4 Good - A driveable vehicle needing no or only minor work to be

functional. Also, a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur

restoration. All components may need restoration to be excellent, the car

is mostly usable "as is".

This is a driver - It may be in the process of restoration or it owner may

have big plans, but even from 20 feet away, there is no doubt that it needs

a lot of help..

I'd call it a "high" #4 because the car is actually better than the definition of #4, but not good enough to be rated a #3 either.

I've up-dated the Web Page to reflect the fact that the floorboard had been poorly repaired by the Previous Owner, and would need to be completely replaced. Also reduced the price to $5,500.00.

At that price one could have a good presentable daily driver... and at some point in the future a car well worth refreshing. Still a good looking Z with an interesting history...

Sorry that I was away the past few weeks or I could have driven a few miles and inspected the car for you. My observations based on the limited pics show the dash to be cracked, with carpets for a tunnel cover, with more rust than shown (a side view pic would help to determine the condition of fenders, doors and rockers)., no engine bay pics, crushed rear bumper, and who knows what shape the wiring is in.

I'm sure this has been brought up before but how about a list of Z people by State that potential buyers could contact to go over and look at a Z like this for them before they make a purchase and/or mistake. Even some better pics and an on-site set of eyes can mean the difference between getting the Z you want and the piece of junk you'd spent hundreds of dollars shipping across country.

When I got my latest 240 via the internet I contacted a local Z car club and had them look at it for me. I donated some money to the club for their efforts.
