Posted September 12, 200618 yr comment_182105 i read this write up over on hybridz about painting your car witha roller, but would really like to some pics of a z painted this way.i have a mint 77 body that is ready for paint, but i now have nowhere to paint it with my spray gun and was considing using the roller method.i wont mind all the wet sanding, i am not the best with an air gun anyway so i was planning on wetsanding anyway.i want the car to look as good as it can, as i have zg flares and mirrors, and am putting 240 bumpers on it.so anyway, if you have done this, let me see some pics and let me in on any tricks before i mess up a good z.thankstony Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21536-roller-painting/ Share on other sites
September 12, 200618 yr comment_182107 If I'm not mistaken, this is the thread you are referring to:http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=107977&highlight=roller+paintingand if you read on a little, it contained links to this thread which you may or may not have seen:http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=2331682&page=0&fpart=1&vc=1It's not a Z but you can see the quality of the paint. I'm not sure anyone here has actually done that, although we did talk about it here:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20410&page=3&highlight=roller+paintingand someone tried it out on a garage refrigerator with mixed results. Based on his testing, it is probably wise to practice on something other then your Z to perfect you technique, since the quality got better the more he did it. Let us know if you decide to do this as there seemed to be some interest in it by a few people.
