September 12, 200618 yr comment_182174 Couple of C110 Kenmeris and the rest are C10 hakosukas. Yours is the only Skyline Japan that I know of. DR30s will probably be making their way over soon, as they're getting up on the 25 year mark. September 13, 200618 yr comment_182223 so, "skyline japan" is the nickname for the c210?what about the dr30?also, i know where the term kenmeri comes from, but what does hakosuka mean? September 13, 200618 yr comment_182243 Yes, C210 is ""Skyline Japan." I don't know for sure, but Hakosuka seems to refer to the boxy shape of the car. Hako = box. I don't think the DR30 had a nickname. In fact, I don't think any after the C210 had one until the Aussies named the R32 "Godzilla." September 13, 200618 yr comment_182245 Ah-ha! Thank you for confirming that Miles. Hako = box and Suka = the first part of the word 'Skyline'. ie, literal translation of "Box Skyline".The R30 had "Iron-Mask" as the facelift version... and some people call the R31 "7th Skyline". Miles, do people in Japan call the R32 "Obakemono"?FWIW, I believe the name "Godzilla" was first used by Wheels magazine.
