Posted September 15, 200618 yr comment_182568 What did Nissan call the removable plate under the front of the car. Would it be a skid plate? I know I have seen the name of it on here but I can't find it. September 17, 200618 yr comment_182778 Nissan actually called the part 'SPLASH-BOARD ENGINE LOWER' and show two different ones. One for up to 9/74 and one for 10/74 up. September 17, 200618 yr comment_182803 That's funny cause my friend bought a 78' a week ago and it still had the fan shroud and splash pan. That's not funny because very few cars still have them, and those people that want them will pay good money for one in great shape, ready to bolt on! I have bought several parts cars that had them, and sold just that one part for more than I paid for the whole car...that's money, not funnyROFL !Will Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21583-what-did-nissan-call-this-part/#findComment-182803 Share on other sites
September 17, 200618 yr comment_182807 Ian, don't forget that in your neck of the country, the sun shines for days on end, and moisture is generally NOT a problem, you CAN find metal parts that in other parts of the country are rusted and gone long ago. Then again, finding any kind of plastic or vinyl part that has survived 30+ years of the Southwest climate simply doesn't happen. Ever hear of "Dry Rot"? of sun-damage? Both very prevalent in the SW of the U.S..So, here in the Pacific NW, we wouldn't consider sun visors on a parts car an unusual find, YOU would. Conversely, the splash pan for us for us IS unusual and for you it isn't.So, with that in mind, how about you suggest to your friend that we swap out a pair of sun-visors for his splash pan?E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21583-what-did-nissan-call-this-part/#findComment-182807 Share on other sites
