Posted September 15, 200618 yr comment_182611 ....did you use the stock, flat plate that the original brackets bolted through or did you just both the ST sway bar clamps directly to the frame? Thanks. September 15, 200618 yr comment_182625 You should use the original brackets. You might also consider reinforcing the frame in front, since over a period of a few years the sway bar will start to tear up the frame rails. Lots of info on this at hybridz.org, haven't looked here but I'm sure its been discussed. www.baddogparts.com sells a weld on angle bracket that significantly strengthens this area. September 18, 200618 yr Author comment_182830 Thanks for the tip Jon. I have drilled through the frame rail and will use a 3-in. bolt (the rail measures 2.5-in.) that is double-nutted. At the top I intend to put a similar plate that is found on the bottom in the stock configuration. September 18, 200618 yr comment_182831 That's a very good solution to the problem. Should be fine that way for a very long time. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21589-for-those-with-st-sway-bars/#findComment-182831 Share on other sites
