Is there a problem with Victoria British (or Victoria whatever) weatherstrips for 71-73 cars? I have installed one on the driver's side and it seems too thick as you rewally have to SLAM the door. Been in for a week and doesn't deem to be getting any better.

I just bought a set from MSA and I'll bet they are the same. I have not installed yet but will be following this post. I've heard that the quarterlight/window seals are a not fun to install in the car.

Just curious, my MSA kit says that it's made by Precision Replacement Parts. What does yours say?

Yeah do a search first and read the volumes that jump out at you on this subject.

Some people have used silicon spray on the rubbers then closed the doors. Do this for about a week or so and they'll eventually soften and mould to your door, forming a good seal.

I am yet to install mine.

The seals you are getting are for a 280. They fit a 240 except there is just a slight difference in door post thickness on the 280's that is why the 240 doors are so hard to close. The dimension between the hinge and the seal plane on the 280 is slightly wider giving you the extra seal compression.

Thanks for the info on the door weatherstrips. Looks like it's a universal problem. Don't know the manufacturer of these parts as I'm out of the state this week. How can they sell something not right without disclosure? Very upsetting. The part is listed for 71-73 240Z, again not able to look at the catalog to see if newewr car lists the same part. I will try to follow up next week.
