December 16, 200618 yr comment_192796 The number 36 indicates that the Z car is the 36th, (first edition), new car (not variation) out of 38, (first editions), new cars to be released for 2006. Variations create an additional market for collectors to have to buy the same car to complete a set of 2006 first editions. My youngest son was into collecting them for a couple of years starting back in 1998. Thank goodness that didn't last but a couple of years. Then there are series cars, each series consisting of 4 cars and a series released each month (48 cars). Then there are past years first editions painted in different schemes each year. The regular hotwheel collectors are fanatics! I could tell you some stories about the hotwheel fanatics, but they are so crazy you wouldn't believe them.:hurt: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21721-new-hot-wheels-240z/?&page=3#findComment-192796 Share on other sites

December 16, 200618 yr comment_192821 Yes, I have bought a half-dozen at the local Wally World for $.97 each :classic: WalMart gets new stock in every week so you should be able to find them if you check often. It took a couple of weeks before I found any, but then I was able to get all I wanted. My WalMart also had them in two locations, so if you go there, be sure to check the entire toy section for an additional rack! December 21, 200618 yr comment_193302 I got a orange one. Looks red to me. They must have used the authentic Datsun paint. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21721-new-hot-wheels-240z/?&page=3#findComment-193302 Share on other sites

December 21, 200618 yr comment_193312 i wonder if these have been repainted (and done very well), as so far (as far as I can tell), i have only found them in white or yellow (both with stripes and number 120) at the store. Also the bumper is not painted silver on the "factory" ones either. These look much better and I actually plan to repaint mine to match my cars as well!Did you guys (Arne and a7dz) get these at the store or on eBay?
