Music City Miracle

I have just purchased a 1971 240Z! I am so excited about the opportunity to get it up and running. I am already addicted to this website and I haven't even gotten the car home. I have attached a couple pics of the car in the condition it is in. As you can see this is going to take a lot of work. The car has been parked for 10-12 years, the owner had parked it a neighbors house and it has been totally forgotten. The neighbor and the PO want it gone, so I am going to load it up and see if I can perform a miracle. This is my first project and I have very little knowledge of what I am getting myself into, but I look forward to learning and experiencing everything that will come with it. I am in Nashville, TN and if there is anyone on here local that can give me any advice on local shops or would like to lend a hand please let me know.

The "Awakening the Beast" is a great post and looks to be one of the best threads for getting started. If anyone knows of any other threads with this type of beginner info let me know. I have purchased the Haynes Manual and the highly regarded Restoring the Z from Amazon.

I haven't had a chance to go through this car very well looking for rust or other problems but I plan on posting updates and pics as soon as I get the car home. Thanks in advance for all the great info on this site.

Congrats on the purchase, these cars are addicting. Seems you've got the right manuals to guide you through too. Use the search engine for specific topics/questions, I do all the time and have been able to get through spots where I was stuck.

If the car hasn't been started for a long time, use the search engine for advice on how to do this properly. I'll bet you can't wait to get her home, give her a bath and get started.

Have fun and good luck with your car!
