Posted October 3, 200618 yr comment_184569 Hi again,My 73 is starting to look and run really good. I have a small question. I have a buzzer. When I plug it in, start the car, put on my seatbelt and put it in gear, the buzzer is going off. I think the buzzer should only be going off when the seat belt is light is illuminating. The light turns off when I put my seat belt on, but the buzzer keeps going. Am I missing something? I have it currently unplugged, but I would like to keep it, because it came with the car.Any ideas?Ramses Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21797-buzzer/ Share on other sites
October 4, 200618 yr comment_184585 Two items:--Check the Passenger's Seat Sensor that ties into the Seat Belt system. If that switch under the lower seat cushion is closed, the system will register as if an occupant is in the seat and will insist on the seat belt being used. --Check your Door Switches that connect to the Dome Lamp. The Z also had a buzzer to remind you that you left the Ignition Key in the lock with the door being open. If your Door Switch isn't clearing that, then it will buzz.HTHE Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21797-buzzer/#findComment-184585 Share on other sites
October 4, 200618 yr Author comment_184621 Thanks for the reply. Are there two buzzers? I thought there was only one. The door switches work perfectly fine. The dome light works well. The sensor in the passanger seat has been removed because it was broken. I thought that I have wired it incorrectly. I had merge 6 wiring harnesess to make 3.Chuck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21797-buzzer/#findComment-184621 Share on other sites
February 8, 200718 yr comment_198528 maybe its the buzzer it self cause i have carbon fiber bucket seats in my car and i still have that problem with that buzzer sometimes so i just left it disconected try doing the simple checks on your car first like the door switches or the seat sensor disconect them and they wont make that noise again mine just did it when i hit a pretty big bump so i have it off and sometimes it actualy wouldnt turn off they are very old so id check those things Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21797-buzzer/#findComment-198528 Share on other sites
February 8, 200718 yr Author comment_198552 It was the wiring. I got it fixed a while ago. Thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21797-buzzer/#findComment-198552 Share on other sites
February 8, 200718 yr comment_198555 Yeah, that response is about 4 months late. I'd suspect that legendzcarclub's won't be as simple to fix. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21797-buzzer/#findComment-198555 Share on other sites
