Posted October 4, 200618 yr comment_184658 Saw this car at the SEZ shootout and it was awesome. Belongs to 240Hoke on Hybridz.org and it is tastefully done mixing old and new.http://www.tunerzine.com/articles.php?id=188 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21807-nice-240z-in-online-magazine/ Share on other sites

October 4, 200618 yr comment_184675 Tastefully done, I really appreciate the total lack of stickers. I think this car spends most of it's time in the garage, I've never seen it driving around Asheville. The tunnel mentioned would require incredibly stupid driving in order to wreck in it, unfortunatly, I've seen it almost happen too many times. October 4, 200618 yr comment_184676 I've never seen it around Asheville, either. It seems like I remember talking to the owner once over at HybridZ....if it was the same guy, he actually lives in Shelby. October 4, 200618 yr comment_184678 Check that. It's the same owner, but I had my facts mixed up. The kid that owns it (he hasn't started college yet) is from Mooresville. October 4, 200618 yr comment_184690 very nice car with alot of cool mods, although I dont think itd be much of hit on this site . The guys at hybridz would probably love it though.....Actually, I think it's a nice looking car. I've got no problem with modified cars, but sometimes they tend to be over-done. That one is clean, obviously a Z, and looks to be done right. I like it. October 4, 200618 yr comment_184695 As I recall a video was made of that crash and a link was posted here ...Did I read that right, that he also happened to crash into some other Z cars while he was somehow hitting the wrong part of the tunnel? If so, ouch.I like the car, too. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21807-nice-240z-in-online-magazine/#findComment-184695 Share on other sites
October 4, 200618 yr Author comment_184697 The car in the video was a 260...and a 350 got pretty trashed too in the accident. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21807-nice-240z-in-online-magazine/#findComment-184697 Share on other sites
October 4, 200618 yr comment_184699 Did I read that right, that he also happened to crash into some other Z cars while he was somehow hitting the wrong part of the tunnel? If so, ouch.Yes, I mentioned it here:http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=123286&postcount=17The video is still available here:http://www.sr240z.com/videos/images/260zt.wmvUnfortunately most of the video has gone missing (especially the crash). Perhaps it was incriminating? As I recall from watching the video there were several Z cars driving well over the speed limit for the parkway all following each other too closely. The lead car didn't realize there was a curve in the tunnel and spun out. October 4, 200618 yr comment_184729 Hey Guys,That is my car, thanks for the compliments. I am actually from Mooresville, NC. I dunno how they got my hometown mixed up. Ive been working on that 240z for the past two years. All the work was done at home in my garage. Including paint and engine work. I knwo you guys dont like modified cars here but I have tried to build something that is still classic japanese, Heres some links to the build:super un-updated build site: http://www.geocities.com/projectphotoalbum(updated):http://gallery.voodoo-people.com/austinAs for the tunnel wreck that happend a few year back when I was in highschool. I actually didnt hit any cars, a 350z spun out in front of me putting me in a bad situtation and then I got rearended by a 350z. I hit nobody but 350z drivers messed my day up! Also on that same note there was nothing incrimenating about the video, it was a 'no fault' accident. I asked for it to be pulled, simply due to the fact that people wouldnt stop talking trash about the 15 second wreck clip at the end. I made it as a tribute to the car and people ASSUMED ALOT about me and the car from that short clip. Anyway the past is the past, hope yall enjoy the pics of my new car iIve but alot of time and sweat into it. October 4, 200618 yr Author comment_184738 Austin, I saw that car at SEZ and it strikes me as a great balance between old school, JDM and new EFI/turbo technology. You've done a great job, hope to see you at SEZ in the Spring.
