Konig owners - 240Z cap options

The "hole" measures 2 3/4 inches (obviously the cap is the same size)..

Actually it's just shy of that at 2-21/32" which works out to 2.656" or 67.468mm on the most narrow part of the hole, which is kind of hard to gauge.

I've been told by a vendor that the Konig-knockoff 'Fast Forward' wheels will fit 240Z hubs if you use Konig caps. This is also what MSA appears to be doing with Fast Forwards, according to their web site. I suppose this is possible, if the center hub area on the FF are thicker than the Konigs. Still checking on this...

Edit - Just got off the phone with MSA, where they told me that either Rewinds or Fast Forwards (when used with Konig caps) will fit over the front hubs of any S30 (240/260/280Z) if the dust covers are smashed down flat or removed. Not 100% certain I trust that, but FWIW...

Nothing new from me. While I was researching this I got distracted and purchased a vintage set of 14x6 Appliance Wire Mags instead. So now I'm no longer looking into Konig caps, but preparing to order aftermarket caps for my Appliances instead, which are in the middle of being polished.

Hey Arne, Nice choice! Check my other AP Center cap thread if you need to locate a vendor for the caps. He also has the lugs and washers.
I already had that thread bookmarked, as these were one of my preferred choices for this new car. :D

Arne, do you think that a silver paint would work on the interior spaces of the mesh and not look too tacky? I gave up on trying to clean mine. That was like work!
If you used a paint that simulates cast aluminum it'd probably look fine. I have already begun cleaning mine using a mild acid-cleaner designed for chrome wheels and hubcaps. It also claimed to be good for cast aluminum wheels, but warns against using on polished wheels. Sure enough, it really dulls the polished areas, but does a really good job of cleaning the cast areas.

There are two drawbacks to it - the obvious one of needing to re-polish the wheels afterwards, and also that while it will clean corrosion and dirt off nicely, it won't eat through road tar or paint. I found that some of mine had paint between the spokes, and the acid cleaner does nothing much to it. So I'm going to have mine dipped and stripped first, then polished. If necessary, I will paint between the spokes later.
