October 7, 200618 yr comment_185048 I just got my new carbs from Z Therapy, I can't wait to get them installed. When I was thinking of buying new carbs, I called MSA and asked where they got theirs from and did they keep any kind of stock on the shelf. They explained they bought from Z Therapy and all carbs are made to order so I figured just get them from the source.Bruce at Z Therapy was patient and answered all my questions.Good luck with your car. October 7, 200618 yr comment_185082 My Z-Therapy carbs are great. What a big difference from when I was trying to balance the old, throttle shaft worn SU's. October 8, 200618 yr comment_185086 Has anyone tried carbs from Zeddsaver.com? I emailed him to ask how his compared to those from Ztherapy and he said "the difference between my carbs and Z therapy carbs is that Z therapy uses after market needles and hardware/ jets when they rebuilt there carbs. Also my carbs are finished off with a high temp clear coat so they will run smoother and colder in the engine bay. This clear coat will not dull or peel off unlike Z thrapys carbs which are polished and will start dulling the moment the carb bodies (Aluminum) heats up in the engine bay, this will create vaper lock." Zeddsaver carbs are $450 US shipped. They look nice on the website. So has anyone actually tried them? January 19, 200817 yr comment_234630 Is vapor lock a possibility on the 73 Hitachi flat tops because I am having some engine problems that can't really be pinpointed to a certain thing? There's usually a decrease of engine power after its been driven for around 10minutes. The loss is sporadic and sometimes only happens once but sometimes it will cause me to pull off the road to allow it to clear itself up. But I never knew anyone who could keep them running... I mean this sincerely, good luck. But I never knew anyone who could keep them running... I mean this sincerely, good luck.I also had a friend who could make those work and we did a few sets back in the late 70s/early 80s because they could be had so cheap. I had a couple of set that were flat out given to me, you know, "just get those damned thing out of my sight!" My friend was a McGuyver-ish type tinkerer that did some drilling, grinding, filling, etc. on them and actually got them to work decent. They wouldn't pass smog, however. I had a couple of cars, one 510, and one 260Z that ran well with them. He still has his shop but niether he, nor I have messed with flat tops for over 20 years. I doubt if you can get the needed parts anymore but I'm one of the few who doesn't think of them as 'Boat Anchors'.
