Putting L26 into my 280

hey gang...

I am getting an L26 with a 4-Speed that runs good. I will be dropping it into my 280 to get it up and running quickly while I save $ to rebuild my L28 the way I want it. I don't know much about the differences between these engines except the obvious.

Can anyone tell me what issues I may need to deal with when I install?

It depends on whether or not you are running carbs or FI. If going to run carbs you'll be fine, you'll just have to adjust them to run well with the L26. If you are trying to run FI, you will more than likely run very rich due to the change in displacement.

you will have to change out the FI fuel pump, way to much pressure, and all the regulators I have seen are not designed to handle that much pressure, you can always bypass it and run the mechanical pump! you only need 3 to 5 psi! Have done this same swap in my 77 running trip webers! you can check ut my gallery! you can also leave all the 280 FI wiring in place just tuck it out of the way if you intend on using it later!
