Posted October 10, 200618 yr comment_185295 Hi. Need Some Design Advice. Unfortunately I am not an Datsun owner. But I love em. I am still kicking my friends butt for trading in his Datsun 240Z for the new 350Z. But I did steal his Datsun shift nob. Its mine now. Anyways, a bunch of us diecast car enthusiast love the shape of the Datsun 240Z, its one rare modern cars that actually have a "sexy" shape to it. Attached to this post is a picture of the Hotwheels diecasting of it. The far left as it comes in the box, the middle one is chromed, and the far right is naked, no paint. My question to you guys is this, what design should I modify it too? I have been thinking about a GTO version, or super charge it? Suggestions? I was also told that I should make a convertible one since a diecast version in this size does not exist? October 12, 200618 yr comment_185590 That would be interesting to see, although I think that making the "trunk" area might be difficult. If you were to carefully cut off the roof of the car, you should be able to adapt it into the trunk lid, I just don't know how tough that would be, or if it would look good. October 13, 200618 yr comment_185658 are you talking about a real car or the Hot Wheels car? There is a way to make a "roadster" 240Z I've seen it at the MSA show, I think there is even a step by step guide or kit you can buy. I don't really like the way the roadster Z looks because part of the unique look of the car is in the roof and side window design. If you make it a convertable or a roadster you loose that Z look and it starts to look like an alfa romeo  . I like the look of a "clean" stock 240Z. There are Fararri kits, I saw one guy that make it look like a corvet:stupid: (just buy a corvet, duhhhhhha), one dude make it into some sort of a monster truckROFL . If you love the look of the Z ... do what every you like , as long as it still looks like a Z when your done. And if we are talking about A hot wheels car ... well I don't know what to say, hotwheels made a made a dual V8 dragster, the sky is the limit, $hit put wings on it.Matt- Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21871-hi-need-some-design-advice/#findComment-185658 Share on other sites
