anyone know a place in newjersy where i can get my gas tank fixed it has rust on the in side dont want to have to buy a new one

Try a radiator shop, generally they can boil the tank and add a coating to the inside, or get a kit from por15.com and DIY!

I'm in Phoenix so I can't recommend any shops. If no one here can, try the yellow pages under "radiators". Many radiator shops also rework gas tanks.

i tryed the yellow pages and google and yahoo and lycos first no luck i even went to the dealer no luck taking a detour home from work i saw a big sign that said we fix gas tanks its being done now cost 300 doller it should be done in about a week or two thanks guy for your help

Yes I used Moyer Fuel Tank Renue as well. Sent the tank to them and I had it back quite quickly. Just make sure you tell them the finish you want on the outside of the tank. If I am not mistaken your tank takes a satin black finish. I could be wrong. If you don't tell them they will undercoat it. They did a very nice job on the tank.

Mckrack, how much did it run you?

I think at the time it was in the high $200 range maybe low $300s. It's well worth it and some radiator shop will cost the same. As a matter of fact Moyers has done so many Z car fuel tanks that I think they have a core program. You send them yours and they send the same exact tank back to you completely done and ready to go.

Some more advice. When taking the tank down and putting it back up be careful you don't press too hard when strapping it up or your completely refinished tank can dent with the palm of your hand. Been there done that.
