I still need to replace the doors but decided to get it painted till i find all the parts I want to replace. I think it turned out pretty good aside from the moron who thought it would be a good idea to paint my rear bumper.

I guess he was trying to make the rear bumper look like the front cover, or so it wasn't as noticeable. Rear bumper cover to match the front would finish it off really nice.

Other than that one thing, it looks great to me. :classic:

I wish I had a pic of the car when I first bought it. It was a wreck.

The rear bumper as far as I know is the standard bumper for it. I thought about the wrap around bumper for the back but to me thats suicide if some drunk runs into the back end of my car.

The paint job was only $230 just a cheap job till I find all the parts I want to replace. They did a decent job for the price though. Maaco.

hey,

nice clean looking z... the front air dam looks like the one msa sells? I have been wondering how the air dams with the fiberglass bumper built in work. do they go over the steel stock bumper? Or is there a metal bumper behind the fiberglass bumper? or .... is it just fiberglass? I was just thinking about the safety of the fiberglass front ends. :tapemouth

yes a buddy of mine sent me the air dam from Motorsports since I developed his Z parts web site.

I personally did not want to use any fiberglass resins or adhesives so I just went to the hardware store and bought some bolts and lock washers. Drilled two holes on each side of the air dam and bolted it right up. I was a little worried that it might not be sturdy but its very tight. Its slightly noticeable on the side right under the light but with the paint on it I think it looks fine. You can always sand it down and add some filler for a uniform fit but I just didnt want it on my car.
