Posted October 19, 200618 yr comment_186260 hello every one. i am brand new to this website and am very excited about all the knowledge here about skylines. Anyways i just pulled my engine and trany out of my skyline and didnt realize that the oil pan is backwards compared to the l28 untill i had it in the both of them out. anyways is there anyone here who has done this swap? will there be enough clearance between the oil pan and the steering linkage?? or do i need to use the l20a pan and relocate the oil pickup?? thanks Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21971-turbo-l28-swap-into-kenmeri-need-help/ Share on other sites
October 19, 200618 yr comment_186294 someone here probably knows better, but wouldn't you put the L24 pan on the L28? dipstick may need to be relocated to the L24 position too?? October 19, 200618 yr comment_186319 Wish I had this problem although with the lack of Skylines and parts stateside, I'd be in deep doo-doo. October 19, 200618 yr comment_186344 Schwiplarkinwhen I bought my 1976 240k,the previous owner told me he but an L28machine ( from datsun cedric 330 ) and what he did for the oil pump as a solution he cutted it and extended it with a piece of pipe and he returned back the oil pan of the original 240K machine ( the L24 ),cos you can't but the L28 oil pan, no clearance !!! that is what he told me ..... October 20, 200618 yr comment_186424 Schwiplarkin, we were sold the C110 Skyline in Australia as the "Datsun 240K". They were export cars equipped with the L24 engine. I do not think any country except the home country (Japan) got the L20 engine. By domestic I just meant that it was originally built for the home market (Japan) - ie JDM like Kent said.Is this the case? Where are you located? October 20, 200618 yr comment_186426 The reason he asks if he should use the L20A oil pan (Instead of the L24) is because he's in the USA and the car is a JDM C110 fitted with a L20A. Its the white C110 GT-R look alike that was on Ebay.com a couple of months ago.I think you could use the L20A pan and oil pickup on the L28, but i'd be guessing. As for moving dipsticks. no idea. October 20, 200618 yr comment_186465 The car has the L20 six cylinder, just like the earlier KGC10, not the L20B four banger. Brian Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/21971-turbo-l28-swap-into-kenmeri-need-help/#findComment-186465 Share on other sites
