This time of the year is so depressing for us Z'ers here in the north.:( I had to get my blue baby tucked away safe and sound for her long winter nap. Now the Z Withdrawals are going to start :)

I was hoping for what they call an "Indian Summer" this year where the weather stays nicer out longer in the fall to squeeze more time in with the Z but not this year. It's been a real sh!tty fall this year here Minnesota.

Well anyway thanks for listening to me vent guys LOL

Z You all later,

Ohh boy, I was hoping it woudn't come this year (yea right). I'm hoping to get one more ride out of her before she take's the nap. Come on, just one day of sun, please :). This way I can fill the tank, adjust the valves, tune carbs, set timing, change oil and, and anything else I can do to prolong the senstion. Just one more day. Santa please....

Ouch, that's harsh to have winter so early. Today, here in the beautiful Pacific NW, my wife and I drove our 240Z up the old highways to McMinnville, OR to meet four other 240Zs (and their owners, of course) for lunch and conversation. Had a fantastic day and a great drive. Clear blue sky and 65-70 degrees. Ate lunch outdoors. I feel bad for you guys (and gals) in the upper Mid-West.

How come you have to "winterize" your Z, you can't drive it every now and then in the winter?

No way in hell do you want to drive a classic Z in the winter weather. Why you ask? Simple- if you do it will RUST  Hell I'm so fussy I don't even let my Z see rain in the summer. beautiful clean warm sunny weather ONLY for my baby.

Ed, I here ya man. Too much to do and not enough time. LOL I just recently finished my last project not long ago before tucking her away for winter. I had to replace the fuel rail that sprung a leak on me and since I had that off I redid everything else (injectors, 0 rings, holders, hoses, clamps ect. ect. As some on here remember me talking about. I had to get that project done so i could run her and fill her tank up full with gas. Hope your able to get all your last few things done too. :)

Ane, I envy ya you lucky son of a gun you LOL

My 280z is my first car so I get to enjoy and drive it year round'.bannanama5.gif

Actually Austen, the reason you're able to enjoy your car year round, is that anything more than ONE inch of snow in Washington (Western) is considered a "Major" blizzard.

The television news teams here go on 24 hour "Winter/Snow Watch" reporting blitzes that make ANYONE that has ever spent a winter in the Mid-West literally (and truly) rolling on the ground laughing....after all -- 2 inches of snow is only reportable as news in the Mid-West if it happens....in September!

If Washington were to receive anything like HALF the snow that either Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin or New York get in a single winter, you can bet they would STILL be referring to that winter's storm....a hundred years from now.

Heck, I remember kids in Michigan walking around the snow PILES from shoveling the sidewalks and driveways.... for Halloween! Or walking to work and having the snow piled up so high on the side of the road that as the pick-up's went by, your feet were ABOVE their roof line.

So although Jared has some snow to look forward to for the next few months, at least he doesn't have the un-ending rain that we get instead. In fact, he may even enjoy some sunshine....those of us in Western Washington joke about that "yellow ball" in the sky come spring time.

Hell 4-6" here just slows us down a bit, LOL!

Really, the biggest problem is that they use salt on the roads to melt snow and ice. As we all know, salt is a real Z killer. That's why you hardly ever see a 240Z in Chicago. And if you do, it probably came from somewhere else like CA, or NM. It seems like you WA guys have a lot of them up there too. I haven't seen a 240Z in a junk yard here since 1987.

This weekend, I need to start the hibernation process.

Well - I will report from the Great White North that the Zed is now tucked away for the season, the snow tires are on the Altima (a bit early), and the furnace is set at 68deg F....and running...

2 inches of snow was reported along the St Lawrence River this past Friday evening in the Brockville ON area....and since I'm 35 miles north, I decided I didn't want to chance it...besides I hate scrapping car windows in the morning. (Z in storage = Altima in the garage)

Sorry boys, but here in sunny Florida, since mine is a soft top "Z", I lowered the top and drove her all weekend just basking in the sun.

Same here fellas. Sorry to rub it in but now I can finally start driving the Z after hiding it in the shade all summer in Phoenix. The next 8 months will be perfect driving weather!

Yep..I'm in the Great White North here too, and I drove back to Toronto from Ottawa this weekend...and hit a SNOW-STORM for about an hour outside of Ottawa.

Soon it'll even be too cold in the garage to do any work so I better hustle and get any little things done before I say goodbye for the winter.
