October 31, 200618 yr comment_187850 PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT I HAVE A -280ZX- I know that our cars are different, but our FI systesms are similar. That said, these are from my FSM. I hope they will be of some service. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22066-stupid-car/?&page=2#findComment-187850 Share on other sites
December 6, 200618 yr comment_191640 You also might want to adjust the afm, my car was doing the same thing a while back I am not sure which way I turned the screw but it worked great! January 31, 200718 yr comment_197539 my 280z's rpms were fluctuating exactly like you described, i opened the hood while it was running and found that the hose going into the fuel injector was spraying a fountain of gas everywhere. that just happened a few days ago and i still need to replace that hose Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22066-stupid-car/?&page=2#findComment-197539 Share on other sites
February 1, 200718 yr comment_197540 Best get on that spraying fuel problem. Head on over to the parts store and get some fuel hosing that is made specifically for Fuel Injected engines. While I'm sure you already know this, from time to time the people behind the parts counter don't think about it, and just get whatever hose they have lying around-So be sure to double check that it is made for FI systems-it will say it (or should) on the hose. If you don't you will be dealing with ruptured lines and more spraying gas in no time. Another thing to get while you are there are all new fuel clamps Don't be cheap and 1. reuse your old ones, or 2. use pipe fitting screw type clamps from WallyWorld. Have fun playing with gas.
