Posted October 30, 200618 yr comment_187651 I'm new here and this is my first post. This club has been very helpful in my Z project. I've been able to find most of the information I need by using the search feature but I've not been able to find two things.1. I need a mast for my 73 Z OEM antenna. The search shows that they should be available but I'm unable to find them. Can anybody help?2. Which side of the rear should the tow hook go on. I'm in a reassembly mode and forgot where it was. Thanks, Larry Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/ Share on other sites
October 30, 200618 yr comment_187652 Not sure that I can help you with the parts, but welcome to the club regardless! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/#findComment-187652 Share on other sites
October 30, 200618 yr comment_187662 Motorsport has replacement masts in their catalog, I don't know if they are really available or not.I believe the tow hook on my '71 is on the left side. Don't have the car here at work to verify, though. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/#findComment-187662 Share on other sites
October 30, 200618 yr Author comment_187673 Thanks Arne, I'll put it on the left side. The web catalog for Motorsport only lists the whole replacement, not just the mast. I'll try to contact them directly.Larry Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/#findComment-187673 Share on other sites

October 30, 200618 yr Author comment_187690 The right side is probably correct. The left would put it awfully close to the exhaust pipe.I live in Ramona.Larry Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/#findComment-187690 Share on other sites
October 30, 200618 yr comment_187691 I knew there was a reason I recalled seeing one on the left side - my car has two, one on each side! Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/#findComment-187691 Share on other sites

October 30, 200618 yr comment_187708 Just to clarify we're actually talking about tie-down hooks here. They were used to secure the cars on ships. On the front of the car is a solid ring that would be more appropriate for towing. October 30, 200618 yr comment_187714 I'm not sure I would rate ANY of them as TOW hooks. It sure wouldn't be fun to discover you rip the frame rail out from under the car in a sudden lurch.2¢E Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/#findComment-187714 Share on other sites
October 30, 200618 yr Author comment_187716 I stand corrected. I did know what they were used for. Were there two or just one in back. Maybe I need another one, although after putting the one on I liked the look better without any. I guess if I have to get towed it might be useful though.Larry Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22118-hi/#findComment-187716 Share on other sites
