I'm new here and this is my first post. This club has been very helpful in my Z project. I've been able to find most of the information I need by using the search feature but I've not been able to find two things.

1. I need a mast for my 73 Z OEM antenna. The search shows that they should be available but I'm unable to find them. Can anybody help?

2. Which side of the rear should the tow hook go on. I'm in a reassembly mode and forgot where it was.

Thanks, Larry

Tow hooks? Tie Down hooks?

Drat, I knew those things served some purpose...

I just couldn't remember where they went, or what they were for...

Hey this is cool! The new version of Firefox has a built in spell checker!

Where do I find this spell checker, my firefox says no update available so I think I am current. 1.5.0.7?

My car is a one owner mostly stock car and I have two tie down hooks on the rear. One large tie down on the left, and one small one on the right. Not a great pic but you can see the position and size of the lerger hook on the left.

Here is a thought...

All you guys with Tie Down Hooks on your 240-Z's know one thing for sure... The Selling Dealer's service department didn't do it's job. They were supposed to be removed by the Dealers prior to Deliver of the car to it's first owner.

Not really a part of the car - they were packing fixtures, much like the plastic wrap on the door panels or around the seatbelts...

The Tow Hook on the other hand, was actually part of the car.. and was to be left in place for delivery to the end consumer.

So if your 240-Z came from the Dealer without it's rear Tie Down Hooks... it was delivered as intended by the Factory.

So.. for Pure Stock Class... if you leave the rear Tie Down Hooks in place for show - then IMHO you should also leave the plastic covers on the door panels, the seat belts wrapped/bagged, and the hubcaps boxed in the rear... along with the Pre-Delivery Inspect Report (not filled out of course)...

FWIW,

Nope. The recently released version is 2.0.

http://www.getfirefox.com will take you to the appropriate download location at Mozilla.

But if you go to www.wazcars.com and click the get Firefox link (bottom right), you'll be helping keep another z site on the internet

As for tow/tie down hooks, theres an informative article here:

Thank you Carl! I wasn't aware of that. Makes total sense. But it also makes me wonder what other prep steps the dealer that originally sold my car skipped! LOL
Carl, that is so "correct" it is beautiful!. It could be interpreted a few ways, but I love itLOL . It certainly is a new avenue for the show car owner who seeks to provoke thought on the perception of "originality"....how far do you go?:)

Jim.

I think I went too far. I ended up with the pre-assembly look. ROFL

Which also explains why I couldn't find them on the Parts CD. They are packing material. How interesting.

Now to decide -- do I remove mine, as they should have been removed long ago? Or do I leave them on as curiosities?
