Posted November 2, 200618 yr comment_188018 I have read my Haynes manual, FSM and "How to Restore....", searched here and on Zcar.com about jack points. I just want to make absolutely sure about the rear location as most photos were ambiguous. The rear jack stand point is on the frame rail that the front/inner differential crossmember is connected. The stands should be pushed out to where the rail is intersected by another rail that curves up to the back.Correct? I am very paranoid about bending a structural element. November 2, 200618 yr comment_188075 Bad Dog Parts makes single point jack plates that weld onto the middle of the rocker panel allowing you to jack both wheels off the ground at the same time without bending or crushing any body parts. November 2, 200618 yr comment_188076 While we are on this subject. Some tire shops use a jacking method that uses a H shaped hoist that the car is driven over then lifted. Be VARY careful of these. They will lift the car from the floor pan near the rockers. As there are fewer and fewer of our cars on the road . Not all of the shops have knowledge of the Z and will try and use the support that runs under the floor pan and extends to the front of the seat . My 240 had rusted floor pan on the passenger side . It was split all along the floor support when I bought the car . I think vary likely the failure of the weakened floor was due to this kind of lifting of the car. November 2, 200618 yr Author comment_188077 Hmmm, my FSM from Courtesy Nissan did not have that page (or I did not see it). Thanks.Odd location for the front jack stands. I place mine on the crossmember, close to the control arm bolt.
