240z Fuel Tank And Hose Instalation

Good Morning All. I Am Needing Some Help On Installing My Fuel Tank And All The Hoses On My 240z Is There Aspecial Order In Which The Hoses Have To Be Put On Including The Fill Neck ? I Have Attempted This Twice Now And Have Trouble With Space For My Hand To Reach . Any Ideas Would Be Greatly Appreciated . (i Have All New Factory Hoses And Fill Neck , The Tank Was Boild Out And Everything Is Clean )

Have you removed the small panel in the wheel well that's in front of the filler hose?

That's a good point! You need to remove that splash guard to get at the filler tube.

I just recently installed mine and attached all the fuel/emission hoses to the tank prior to lifting it into place. I attached the fuel filler tube last and didn't have any problems and my hands are big. It took a little finagling but I got it to work.

Also, you might want to clean and tighten the electrical ground connection at the rear of the car before you put the tank back in.

easiest is to attach the 90 degree bending hose on the upper rear of the tank first, and have a 2nd person up above 'pulling' the hose through the hole in the floor into the cab while you are pushing the tank up, then bolt at least one of the straps on, and it should stay in place while you monkey with everything else.
