Howdy All,

I am in need of some help. I had pulled the hard (fuel, vapor, brake) line mounts and insulators, from my '72 and stored them in a large ziplock bag. Evidently, in strippping several of the same parts from '71-'83 cars, I have put them all in the same bag, and now have no idea which ones are original to the car.

Has anyone got a set tucked away for or from plating/refurbishing that they could lay out the insulators for(I can figure out the brackets from the insulaotrs and position) a picture?

I checked the my printed copy of the fische, FAST, and the parts book(Oct, '69-Dec, '72), and none of the diagrams show the insulators/brackets(not even partnumbers) unless I missed something.

Well, I have sorted out the 280ZX parts-they are wider.

Still, if any one has a full set they can take a pic of, it would help.

Dont know if these pics will help but it cant hurt to put them up. I went out into the garage and dug out the bag with the hard line insulators in it for pictures. I also took pics of the original hard line clamps still on the old lines. These are off a 72. They arent in the greatest shape but I still have to try to find replacements. The hard line clamps are very close to 1/2" wide.

That helps a bunch!

The reason I needed to find out what actually belonged to my car was so I can make up some replacements.

How close to stock are you looking for?

I am going to be using Stainless and a soft urethane- the insulators should look bone stock, but the brackets and fasteners obviously won't be cadmium plated.

I will re-sort the insulators tomorrow, and hopefully have molds for all of the insulators made by next monday. Then I will start on the forms for the brackets. Somewhere in between, I will find stainless fasteners.

I'm looking for functionality more than totally stock looks. Most of the metal brackets I can glass bead and powder coat orange to match the car, but the rubber is all dry rotted. If the Urethane works let me know. I would be interested in where you got it and how you made them.

I am going to make some molds after I clean up and repair my dry rotted examples as well. If I can't get them in good enough shape to make molds from, I will have to carve new ones and make molds form the carvings.
