    • 1) Nothing but nitpicky stuf!
    • 2) Too many accountants telling engineers/stylists what they can't do.
    • The wheels aren't right.
    • No forced induction version.
    • Too flashy interior
    • the interior is not flashy enough

    • The car wasn't ment to be a part of the grocery getting lifestyle.
    • Too many gizmos.
    • Fit and finish leaves a little to be desired.
    • Nissan didn't build in some performance that the after market charges too much for.
    • OMG it IS ugly!
    • It is too beautiful to drive on the street
    • Looks too much like a frog to be taken seriously-until you get left...
    • it is a mismash of design-elements are used once instead of repeatedly.
    • Are you nutZ the car is da bomb!!

Hey Zedevan, I like the looks of your 240/350Z design. Great job....

Now if you could somehow get rid of that boxy/Nissan Truck looking front end on the 350Z and replace it with a more sleek looking design like the G Nose or the front on the Jaguar XK8, I think you would have a great looking car.

And then take your designs to Nissan and apply for a designer job....

Just to weigh in, I believe that the whole 'successor' to the 240Z isn't so much on basic lines and design but price, performance, and market position.

The 350Z gets you a 2 door, 300hp, sports coupe that is in a class of its own. Everything below it is FWD, there is a bit of competition from AWD rally rockets, but then the jump to a more refined sports car is a very large financial one, up to Caymen / C6 / and higher.

It is the 240Z's successor because it is an affordable sports car.

I gotta say after the insight Larry offered, the newer hood in Aphadogs' post is more 240esq!

The bump starts a ways up the hood, with a chevron shape, and continues all the way to the windshield. Even though there is no valence panel as a 240Z had, the new hood carys the element all the way to the glass as it was in the 240Z. It looks to be similar in proportion to the hood expance and opening too-though the bump does look too wide in context too me-it looks like it would be more at home on a PT cruiser. Not that I don't like your hood!

while on my search through random forums for fd rx7 seats for my car i came across heaps of ppl praising the 350z for the price it was etc in comparison to any other <AU40g second hand sports car, the only car ppl said was better was the fd (and hence how i came across the thread, LOL) and its no where near as reliable etc

i think the design isn't to bad, if the marketing wasn't trying to call it a 240z and mayb the name was 350zx would people really hate it as much? with that said i'd probably buy a g35 just because u can't get them here and they look close enough to the same thing with some more functionality, and if i was buying a 350z it wouldnt b as a sports car...i want a lotus 7 for that LOL

and i am currently looking for a design job, a one year paid work experiance thing, although for the experiance gained a place like nissan who would really care how much they were paying!

Exactly! Very interesting I thought. Exactly the same curvatures as the S30, albeit made to Z33 proportions. You must remember that it has a V6 not an I6, so naturally it is going to be wider to suit!

I like the 350z. If it wasnt for the Pontiac GTO, the 350z would be first on my $30k car list.

Lots of body kits, lots of performance kits and still very nice completely stock.

What I currently dont like about it is the

V6 that they use in every other vehicle

The weight of 3500lbs

What I would like to see come back is

An Inline-6

T-Tops

closer to 3000lbs curb weight

Though with the rumors of the 450z going around, it doesnt seem like anything that I would like to see will ever make it back into a Z car. :(
