Posted November 7, 200618 yr comment_188667 By the sound of the clunking and grinding going on behind me on my last journey, and the fairly large amount of play I've been experiencing in the driveline for the past six months, i belive my diff is shagged :dead:Does anyone have a spare r180 in decent condition that i could reimburse them for? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22218-a-spare-r180/ Share on other sites
November 7, 200618 yr comment_188668 I have one with 75K miles but shipping would probably be very expensive. jlp Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22218-a-spare-r180/#findComment-188668 Share on other sites

November 8, 200618 yr comment_188728 I'll have a spare one shortly but it's rooted like yours and in Sydney. I've been led to believe that you can put a wrx lsd diff in bolt for bolt, I've only seen this done on a 180b sss though. November 8, 200618 yr comment_188819 I was thinking....Might not be the diff thats the problem. might be a worn out uni joint in one of the half shafts. or the drive shaft.Might be a good idea to jack up the back of the car, and check for play. November 9, 200618 yr Author comment_188926 Cheers craig, thanks for the offers guys,I live in leederville - was probably on my way home from a mates place. Not doing anything too stupid was I?It was the gawd dang gearbox in the end. I drained the diff sump first, finding nothing and still an ample quantity of oil. The gearbox gave me a nice little surprise in the form of a snapped 'C' shaped clamp - something integral i guess, as its made of a strengthened metal. The 'K'll be out of commission for a bit...Tom Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22218-a-spare-r180/#findComment-188926 Share on other sites
