Is there a fix, for type A?

I fixed my sloppiness by installing a '72 transmission.

Wrong answer. That is for Type B transmissions, not Type A. The Type A linkage is totally different and this solution does not apply.

Any know solutions? The washer I installed between the forks really helped a lot, but I guess is something temporary.
