Need help ! choke handle/choke cable bolt

Recommended Posts

Fellow club members, blessed with a couple of sixty degree days (about twenty degrees above normal here in Lincoln, NE) I set out to solve a nagging choke problem. After pulling the center console and turning it upside down, I noticed that the small shoulder bolt that connects the "u-turn" of the choke cable to the choke handle is broken. If anyone has one they would like to sell or knows where I can get one, I would appreciate it. I would hate to have to park the car this winter. E-mail me at Sbutternut@juno.com or send a PM Thanks, SKB '71 240Z

Glad to see another 240Z owner here in Lincoln. I can't help you with the choke part, but you might try one of the motorcycle shops to see if they have anything to get you back on the road. There is a 72 240Z in the Omaha U-pull-it yard but no console or choke cable left in it.

Good Luck

It's always buyer beware (read that as knowledgable and asking the right questions) but I see these on eBay quite often. You should be able to pick up the whole shabang for about $35.00 I'm guessing. That's a lot to pay for just a bolt though. You might also look at lawn mower repair or bicycle shops. Don't go into a Harley dealer though. They only know their products through the year and model based on my experience locally. There are a multitude of used Z part suppliers out there too. I dealt with Roger at the Z barn in Tennessee and was well pleased.
