November 14, 200618 yr comment_189583 Why I ran the Motec M48 EMS on the Rusty Old Datsun it was important to get a good ground because the EMS needed it as a base reference. I was also running a 16v battery and a Bosch Motorsports 16v alternator. All it took to get a perfect ground was a #6 battery ground cable and a copper strap connecting the engine to the chassis at the alternator mount. November 14, 200618 yr Author comment_189614 I jotted down a list of the connections I thought would be good to make:1. Batt(-) -> chassis2. Chassis -> starter (-)3. starter (-) -> block4. block -> head5. block -> Alt.6. Alt. -> Intake7. Intake -> Dist.8. Intake -> AFM9. Intake -> chassis/dropping resistors10. Drop. res. -> steering column/headlights-The block:near the bottom; the heater hose clamp-head: front/hoist bracket?-Intake: middle; the EFI wires clamp or AAV valve-AFM: Any bolt-Drop. resistors: mounting bolt-Steering Col.: preferably the headlamp switch bolt and/or the lighting rheostatI still don't think 8 Ga wire would be approprite- too obvious. I'm going with 10Ga. 1000 strand wire. Not much current is involved.thx Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22300-chassisengine-ground-kits/?&page=2#findComment-189614 Share on other sites
