I wouldn't know, as I have disabled blinking text in Firefox, and I don't think Safari supports blinking.

The Firefox trick works on either Windows or Macs. Open a window and enter "about:config" in teh address field (without the quotes, of couse) and press Enter. You'll get a whole pile of customizable options. In the Filter field at the top, enter "blink" (again, w/o quotes). The top entry will be "browser.blink_allowed" with a value of "True". Double-click that entry to change the value to "False". Close the Firefox (or close the window on a Mac) and open a new window. Blinking text will no longer assault your optic nerves.

Nice jellybean Arne. I didn't know about this one.

BTW, blinking text has been around for a lot longer than I.E. 4 or 5. I remember it back in the days of Netscape 2 or 3. Maybe even before that. Anyone remember the LED sign on the development floor at Netscape you could write your own messages on? I still have a screenshot of a mesage I wrote on that back in 1990 or 91.

I think IE stopped supporting the blink tag/style in IE 6.

Every time i see a blinking text it reminds me of Homer Simpsons web page he made with all the blinking text and animated gifs.

Heres a setup for you Mike....

"Mike surely you cant be serious"
