10 things we can all do...

Damned Illinois drivers! I swear this state has the worst drivers in the world...especially here in 'Springpatch'. Apparently 75% of the women in this town can't drive unless they're talking on a cell phone at the same time. And approximately 99% of the general population has no clue that the left lane is for passing only! Just the other day, I got stuck behind this lady going 5 below the speed limit in the left lane, I gestured her to get over and she gestured back...and then slowed down. When they finally did get over, they all looked over at me and frowned like I was the bad guy. Stupid people!!

Here's my rant.......no turn signals, cell phone abusers, idiots merging onto the fwy at under the speed limit, tailgaters!!! I'm a SoCal driver and to sum it all up....a vast majority of drivers are just basicly clueless, not just about driving but, with life in general! I live in a town with many residents from the way south and I warn friends of mine who come to visit me to be extra careful when driving in town. I swear to gawd, I've seen more than once, one of these boneheads will be in a lefthand turn lane, with left turn signal on, and when the light turns green the idoit turn right.....as Carlos Mencia puts it.....da-ta-da's. I firmly believe that if you could investigate the life of these people, you would discover they are just as much a da-ta-da on or off the roads. The sad part is that most of these people will never get to read these posts........because they probably can't read!!!!!!!!:stupid: :stupid: :stupid:

P.S. Remember, it's all about me.....right???

As long as were venting . My pet peeve is the damn cell phones , people on cells are such a hazard . I cannot imagine what is so darn important that it cannot wait until you are at your destination. I turn mine off when I am on the Freeway. Also as been mentioned before tailgating . Finely they are giving tickets for it here in Portland . Gary

Thats make makes Z cars so safe to drive. If you've got a manual tranny, it makes it hard to talk on the phone, read, pick your nose etc. Having no cup holders makes it hard to eat and drink while driving.

Well, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is not imune to these issues either. Around here, road rage surfaces often. Solves nothing, but keeps rearing its ugly head. Yesterday my wife advised me that I was a terrible passenger - You know, the one that applies the brakes from the passenger seat, etc. That opened up the opportunity for me to suggest that she was violating about 8 of the 10 rules outlined above. She took it better than expected, but I suspect it will change nothing. Old habits die hard.... or they can kill you and others.

As stated before there are only 2 types of drivers in this world. The ones who drive so slow I have to get right up on them and the other ones that tailgate me.

Applying your brakes just because the guy in front of you or better yet a guy in a State near you applies his, is a sure sign you're not much of a driver. Foot off the gas, wait for it, and then apply as needed. Drive on a track inches off someone's rearend to get the real flavor of this approach.

Walter-

I-71 in either diection on about any day is like a bullet train. Any vehicle on the left lane must be doin 71, minimum, most are 80. I thought 71 was was highway number. And don't forget I-480, where that's the speed minimum (80) in any lane.

I'm told in Florida that the ziper-method is supposed to be state law? From experience, I see it all the time in crowded parking lots, and it seems to work.

I'm in favour if leaving about 1/2 car length space every 3 or 4 cars at the light. It gets the entire line of cars up to speed faster.

thx

Many of my pet peeves are already listed above but I will add a couple more. Dumba$$es that don't know how to take there turn at a 4 way stop intersection. They are either to scared to go and sit there when it's there turn to go, or you get people that coast right through and don't know what the word STOP means and they take YOUR turn. Both types screw everybody up at the intersection ggrrr

Another one I love is when your on a road where the right lane comes to an end and you get these morons that ride the freakin right lane to the last minute and practically go around you on the shoulder after the lane ends because they are too good to be behind anybody and damn near take the nose off your car to cut over.

Makes you shake your head and wonder how some of these people passed there drivers test

You kidding (about the stopsign stuff?)

Last week, a guy (in an SUV of course) tried to push in my pasenger door because he decided to forego the stop signs, probably because he couldn't leave 3 minutes earlier for work. ( I was 15 minutes early, as usual.) Then he followed me down the street, and HAD to stop at the next sign because I was in front. Then he decided to flash his lights, drive around me (blocking the other lane,) flip me off, then just about bash another car getting onto the main street. He even went through the red light that's there too.

He doesn't deserve to drive; maybe somebody will steal the SUV on a rainy day whe he's in a rush to a big business deal.

Oh yeah- if you don't pull up and ONTO to the crosswalk at a light, somebody will pull in front of you.
