My 79 is my daily driver, and currently my daily commute to school is @30 miles one way. Five days a week.

So that's about 300 miles a week, all of it on twisty two lane mountian roads:classic:

With any luck, I'll be able to move closer to university in January, then I'll be able to give the car a break, and hopefully start some bodywork to correct some rust issues before they get too large.

I drive mine once in a month since i moved to Medellin and left the Datsun at my parents home in Bogotá, so i can drive it when i visit them. I could bring it here but the scolarship is not enough to pay the gas, that's why i have a 4x4 diesel as daily driver....

I bought my Z in Tuscon in June, drove it home to Rio Rancho, NM and drive it daily back and forth to work. Once in awhile I run errands in it. I have a hard time convincing myself to put her up on jack stands and do a front to rear check up. My first Z was a different story. She was a fair weather car and no winters. Only 70,000 miles in 13 years.

I voted....on sunny days only. There is no way in hell I'm going to drive my 1970 Z in bad weather, especially after spending two years getting it into it's current condition. Basically my Z is a weekend toy that otherwise spends its life in a nice garage out of the elements...and I live in SoCal where the weather is generally nice and sunny. It like a very old rare whisky......not to be used up wrecklessly but to be sipped and savored for it's uniqueness! But boy is is fun on the back twisty mountain roads......this is the savoring part!

I hope it doesnt rain much in your part of Oregon.

It's pretty seasonal here in Western Oregon. July through mid-October is almost totally rain-free. Right about now is as bad as it gets, rains 4-5 days a week. After the first of the year it'll break some, and there will be dry stretches.

It's not bad enough for me to bother putting it up for the winter, it will get driven every couple of weeks anyway. And then next Summer... :laugh: :classic:

I wish I was confident enough in the car to make it a daily driver. Unfortunately too, I smell terrible after anything longer than a 20 minute ride in the car. There is a plan, I just need to get promoted. Hard to believe I had a daily driver 260 for 5 years and drove it cross country twoce, the good ol' days I suppose.

I drive mine around once a month. Usually to car events or track days. It's a bit of apain driving around town stopping at lights every 2 minutes. So the weekender gets a run on the open roads. Oh plus the usual running around for some more work/improvements. Still a work in progress.

Living in Vegas maybe paradise for some but for a museum quality piece as a 72 with original paint, summer time is a killer if you have not a garage and covered parking space at work if you use your car on a regular basis.

It is not anymore museum quality since I drive it on a regular basis but it is fully stock down to the hubcaps, radio, exhaust and all the original stuff of the time in perfect shape including the dashboard cover.

I bought it at 32K and is now at 101k. It has been troublefree with extremely and sometimes excessive maintenance schedule.

In the last three years I drive regularly about four times a week, troubleshoot every problem on the spot and fix it with my library but also with the advise of the very knowledgeable members of this forum.

So, no winter on the blocks here but the original A/C still on the R-12 must be kept in perfect condition for our harsh season.

After 4 years of work my car still doesn't run, so I don't currently drive it. When I get it running I intend to drive it on sunny summer days and warm summer nights.

Back when we were newlyweds my wife bought a restored 1967 Mustang and used it for a daily driver. Man that was a nice car... for an old Ford... anyway after two Indiana winters the body rusted completely off the car. The floor boards fell out, the rear fenders rusted through so badly that anything we put in the trunk fell out. In short the car was junk.

I will never make that mistake again. They don't call this the rust belt without cause.

I'll drive it when it's done -- right now I sometime sit in it, shift and make vrrroom vrrrroom sounds. Of course since the seats aren't bolted down it's easy to get carried away.

I would say few times a mounth, coz I work on shifts so I don't have a good chance always to take a round in a good time, besides the weather is terrible in my country, so UI don't wait for a sunny day ctually, but I wait for a colder day:) but not rainy!

so I end up wit about 5-8 times a mounth or even less!

And the last time I drove my zed was March 1993. On the final straight to getting it drivable again. When it is, it will only come out during dry days in the spring/summer/autumn
