I might have a lead for you. Will be posting some info here in a couple of minutes in regards to an auction I saw on eBay by a guy that goes by the handle of jaguardatsuns. Title of the thread will be (7 Datsuns looking for a home)

Mike, I have a 1972 240Z that Ipurchased in 1984 .I completly rebuilt it in 1986. I had the car garaged until 2 years ago when we converted the garage. I would like to sell the car to someone who will care for it properly. the body is perfect, the paint needs to be color sanded or repainted. Mechanicaly the car near perfect. The enginne was replaced with a 280Z block and fited witht high performance parts. There is too much talk about now. If youor anyone you know is interested please contact me and I can go into more detail. 818-415-8189 cell

Hey man, if I were you, I'd park the car until I saved up enough money to get it fixed. I mean in the mean time could buy something else until you've saved up enough to fix your 240z. I guess what I'm saying is, if you buy another z car it probably will have problems every now and then that may go wrong to so you will be putting money into that maybe you'd be better off just keeping the car that you have now and saving your money to put into that.-Austen.

I agree with 76Datsun280z wholeheartedly.

Ian, I did a quick autotrader search for your area and found this-ecclectic, reliable, good winter driver, sporty, worth looking at (or at least thinking about)

It's a 1982 VW Scirocco, a sporty little demon in its time.

Save your 240 for a time in the future when you'll be able to get her back on the road.

I gave up a 75 Fiat Spider because I "didn't have the money" to fix her, but I had the money to get another car. I still kick my arse over it.

I relate to your money/car situation (we all do), and I can assure you that if you were to part your Z and get something else, you'll regret it FOREVER.

You've already committed yourself to spending 1500, so why not get yourself a beater, and keep the Z in one piece?

Come on now. You know it's the right thing to do!

edit-the thumbs are just representations I googled. the actual photos wouldn't come up for me on autotrader, but those are '82 models, so you know what it looks like.
