Ian, I did a quick autotrader search for your area and found this-ecclectic, reliable, good winter driver, sporty, worth looking at (or at least thinking about)

Save your 240 for a time in the future when you'll be able to get her back on the road.

I gave up a 75 Fiat Spider because I "didn't have the money" to fix her, but I had the money to get another car. I still kick my arse over it.

I relate to your money/car situation (we all do), and I can assure you that if you were to part your Z and get something else, you'll regret it FOREVER.

You've already committed yourself to spending 1500, so why not get yourself a beater, and keep the Z in one piece?

Come on now. You know it's the right thing to do!

Sorry guys, I disagree. I recall the pictures of the damage, and it's not worth it. Far better to start with a better shell. Keep the original car, so you can salvage any good parts for the next car. Watch for car with as good a body you can find. Maybe something like these:

Yeah, Arne is right. Its right above the tension rod, and it'll never be right again. I intend on completely gutting mine for parts when I find another shell. Its hard because I spent three years building mine, and got to drive it for two weeks. ****in' heartbreaking, but I'll recover sometime. In the mean time, my mom is buying a new car and giving me her '93 Mazda Protege.

I agree with Arne; Remember that Ian told us the driver’s door would not open. If not for that statement I would of said fix it. Just how hard did he hit the curb? I am guessing harder then he wants to admit. His car is fixable but what does the rest of the floor boards and frame rails look like? How far is the rest of the body tweaked to jam the door? You will spend lots and lots of time in that one to get it right. He is right to start with a newer shell or another running car. It will be both cheaper and quicker in the long run.
