July 14, 200222 yr Author comment_10547 uh, well i solved the problem now....it's was actually really simple...and one thing i did find out was that my tires have always been rubbing, i got the wrong offset wheels second when i checked my car out that night i was slightly intoxicated...hehehehe...anyways, i feel like an idiot for thinking my car was lower...it actually was but it was on a slant on the road so, yeah...and the bumping noise was a huge patch of road tar that stuck to my tire from road construction...i had to take off the wheel and scrape the gooey road tar off my tire for a couple hours...that stuff sticks!and it was like 1cm thick!.. well i'm gonna go into a little corner now cuz i'm such an idiot... it's the damn alcohol....:stupid: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/2246-help/?&page=2#findComment-10547 Share on other sites More sharing options...
July 14, 200222 yr comment_10549 The beauty of the internet is that you can reach so many people in around the world. But sometimes it can also be a curse! Bummer about the wheels! Sounds like you are going to need something like 20mm spacers or maybe you can go with a more narrow tire. I would suggest you stay away from generic wheel spacer if you plan on driving the car hard. Best to go to a machine shop and have them make you some good quality spacers. Depending on how wide the spacers are you may also consider upgrading to high grade wheel studs, like ARP. Then if the wheels are for front wheel drive which I doubt because you wouldn't be able to drive at all, then you would want a spacer that mounts to your hub using your existing studs then supplies you additional studs in the spacer to mount your wheel.
