December 6, 200618 yr comment_191707 That is a diff from a Subaru. They used the samne manufacturere that Nissan did. The is an R160, which would be weaker than your R180. they are a better swap for a 510 than a Z. It would drop in without changing the moustash bar, but you will need to change the half shaft flanges. It may work, but if you are at all agressive in your driving, it probably won't last.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22533-411-rear-end-is-it-the-right-one/#findComment-191707 Share on other sites

December 6, 200618 yr comment_191723 What car came with the right 4:11 gear? Is it a r180 or a r200? Im lost here, sorry to be hyjacking.I got my R200 longnose 4.11 from a JDM R30 Skyline (12mm version) - did swap for a 3.54 from a Z31, the guy I swapped with is going V8 so the 3.54 was better suited for this application. There were lots of JDM cars that have both R180 and R200 in the 3.9 and 4.11 ratio's. I have not checked the S12 R180 diff I have but I believe it will be a 4.11 (and it is a CV R180 too boot) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/22533-411-rear-end-is-it-the-right-one/#findComment-191723 Share on other sites
December 6, 200618 yr comment_191725 What car came with the right 4:11 gear? Is it a r180 or a r200? Im lost here, sorry to be hyjacking. If you are looking for a 4.11 rear (r180)for a 240z in the states, I found one in a 240sx, I think it was a 85. You could always check out the Z garage, lot-o-useful info http://www.geocities.com/zgarage2001/z.html . If you plan on using a readend from a 240sx, you'll have to change/mod the stubs on the side of the diff. Look in the tech section the write up is pretty simple to follow and dead on!!So you want 4.11's? You better have a 5-speed and like to shift!! December 7, 200618 yr comment_191806 Exactly witch one is better for street use the R180 or the 200...Trying to source all the parts for it now. Going to look at a shell Saturday that has no drivetrain. Suposed to be rust free and half the wok is already done! December 7, 200618 yr comment_191807 I've got an R180 in my '72, but I'm selling it to my friend. The '71 I'm buying from David (Zs-Ondabrain) has an R200, and he says they're great on the street. Depends on how many burnouts you want to do Bill That Z31 ZXT in your gallery should have an R200 LSD shouldn't it? December 7, 200618 yr comment_191820 I think if you open up the diff you can tell if its lsd or not. If its a LSD R200 it would be worth putting it in the S30.
