I am looking for information on the cold air intakes I see on Ebay. The store name is Intakepower Air Intake. They have a Buy-It Now price of $7.15. They claim it increases HP and milage. Anybody out there used one.

I made mine as well, As for telling a differance I'm not sure I can but you can hear the thing sucking air. I got a 3in Polished Alum tube from a local speed shop for 20$ and a cone filter from Auto Zone for 30$ I think it was.

I have a cold air intake, but I don't have a good mounting bracket. Right now its just held in by zip-ties (yikes!) but I have been unsuccessful trying to fabricate my first car part ever out of a piece of bent metal. I have seen pictures, but does anyone have any tips for creating a proper mounting piece for the cold air intake?

Thesupport plate was made of 1/8 aluminum, and the hangar strap was made of a chromed steel strip. I cut the plate using my jeweler's saw (used for model-making.) You could use anything for the strap, andthe strap wraps completely around for support. I would suggest something that won't rust.

Also, I used the oem clamps for the hose end atthe AFM, and a worm-screw clamp (modern) for the filter end.

Stephen-

Is that one screw really going to hold the weight of the tube & filter? That's why I use both airbox screws.

I am still wondering about what difference there is between the short and long tubes?

#1: Strap

#2: modern clamp on filter end and oem clamp on AFM end
